SIGN & SING will present a workshop performance and post-performance discussion of our work in progress, The Universal Drum. The English text of the poem is written by Deaf playwright Willy Conley, and the ASL translation is a collaboration among Conley and his students at Gallaudet University.
SIGN & SING will perform at Princeton University in collaboration with the Princeton Children's Library and the Princeton University American Sign Language Club. Our program will include family-friendly stories in English, including Samuel Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915.
SIGN & SING is proud to announce a collaboration with Deaf playwright Willy Conley. We will be working with Gallaudet University students to create an ASL translation of Conley's poem, The Universal Drum, before adapting the work to music.
